To me, White Christmas isn't primarily a historical piece - the setting is of a certain time period, but I don't think that's crucial to the plot itself. (Essentially, this could be about any era, any war, etc - the Ed Sullivan Show could be something else, etc.) So I would personally not have a problem casting any actors who could sing, dance, and act the material, no matter what their heritage, and even if the show is kept in the 40's/50's setting.

I also feel that, given the spirit of the show and its holiday feeling, anyone who's too concerned with the race of any given actor is missing the point of attending the show in the first place.

Now, about the show's title...
