My grade school teacher talked about the film when it was released around Christmas of 1954. My parents took me to see it. I was used to people talking about Wold War Two, including my dad who served in Europe and Asia. The plot is fine, but no more.
Still it reflects the way many people felt almost ten years after the war was over. I was eleven years old at the time. Several of my teachers in high school also fought in the war. |
