| My favorite LP gatefold is ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER. The original release had a linen like texture on thick cardboard. Beautiful design and the initial release also included a souvenir book. Some other "gatefolds" I have are HERE'S LOVE, THE MUSIC MAN, FUNNY GIRL, HELLO, DOLLY! I always thought that DOLLY and FUNNY GIRL had a lot of blank space on the inside where they could have added more pictures and liner notes. It was great collecting Broadway Cast Recordings on LP'S back then. CDS are great, but they just don't compare to the excitement it was when purchasing an Original Broadway Recording on long playing records!!! |
