Cute novel -- "A Garden of Cucumbers" -- which I read as a kid, when I liked stories about clever thieves. If I recall, the movie -- typically -- streamlines the action.
The screen adaption was by Isobel Lennart, who also did film adaptations of "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" and "Two for the Seesaw." On this site, she might mainly be noted for writing the Broadway book to "Funny Girl." |
