| The National company in Detroit, their next to last performance. I thought it was just wonderful especially leads McGee Maddox and Allison Walsh. I hadn't realized that the dance would be classical ballet( I don't have the correct vocab to describe it) I guess I thought , like the movie, the show would end with the ballet and there'd be lotsa tap before that....But it was just extraordinary, It was fun hearing the different Gershwin songs in new situations. The only time I flashed out of context, was when they began to sing "Who Cares' and I immediately thought of John. P Wintergreen...Also, I'd never hear to verse to "Liza before, I wish I had gone earlier, so I could have squeezed in a 2nd visit |
