"I get that. I just refuse to see how the idea of "not reaching for a check" (which would make sense) translates to the nonsensical "reaching from a check."
Not reaching for a check would not make sense as he is talking about breaking an arm. Not reaching shows no physical exertion that could result in a broken arm. Given he is explaining how the arm was broken, what he wrote makes perfect sense.
Also, I have been reading through this thread, and I am amazed at all the nitpicking going on. Lyricists have certain poetic license to get their point across. In this instance, not only was it a clever lyric, it was also very funny. |
