...I wonder if it could ever work here. If I understand it correctly, the paperless system would eliminate both "touting" and the resale market.

I've always thought that Ticketmaster had a vested interest in grossly inflated resale prices because they get such a high commission from each sale.

If the resale market is eliminated, that means a serious drop in their revenue. I was not aware of how high their resale fees were until I attempted to sell a ticket myself through their resale service. Shockingly high. The burden is passed on to the buyer.

From a business standpoint, why would they want to eliminate the resale market?
