| As I posted a couple of hours ago, I saw this last night and loved it. What a great surprise it was to be able to listen to the great score today. In addition to the two songs you mentioned, I also especially like Dina's other solo. "Something Different." I think that Katrina is this year's Ben Platt, meaning the runaway wire to wire winner of the Tony for lead in a musical. |

| I can see admiring their acting as similarly exquisite, but in my opinion Evan Hansen is way more difficult to sing than Dina is. Maybe it's just that Katrina Lenk made it look so effortless, but are there really challenging songs for Dina, vocally? Not that the Tonys necessarily go to the role most vocally challenging, but I think for a lot of folks what impressed so much about Ben Platt was his sheer ability to sing it with such gusto night after night. | |

| I completely agree that Platt's role was far more challenging vocally, but that wasn't my point. I wasn't trying to compare the roles. I was saying that DEH opened in December of 2016 and he immediately became the odds on favorite to win the Tony and remained the favorite until he was announced as the winner. I think the same will hold true for Lenk. I believe she is the favorite now (in spite of openings yet to come) and will remain so until the statue is in her hands. | |

| I also think Lenk is very likely to take the Tony, and not because its an especially difficult role vocally. She propels the piece in a way that is singular and haunting. She is the heart of the show. She feels like an exciting discovery. That's what she shares with Platt. | |

| So she has that going for her this year as well. And please no one try to argue that she wasn't snubbed because it would mean eliminating someone who was nominated -- personally, I would have had her nominated instead of Condola Rashad. |

| On the basis of her beautiful performance in "The Band's Visit" at the Atlantic, I was fairly certain she would be nominated for "Indecent" without having seen it, and was surprised when she wasn't. Once I did see it, not long before the Tonys were presented, I fully understood. She never really had a character to play in "Indecent." You could see that she was gifted, particularly in her musical moments, but there just wasn't enough of her as any one character to justify her being nominated over any of the other nominees. I did not get the bang out of "Indecent" that so many on this board did, but Richard Topol, who did have a character to play, certainly earned the nomination he received. I would be shocked if she were not nominated next spring, though it's way too soon to assume her victory is in the bag. |

| I just checked their wiki, Topol wasn't nominated... I don't believe any actor from Indecent was, though I would have nominated 4 of them. | |

| Is the competition so far. I wouldn't dismiss her as a contender. Of course, my fair lady and carousel have very meaty roles for lead actress in musicals. | |

| In a season that has four big, woman-led musicals still to open (Carousel, Frozen, Mean Girls and My Fair Lady), it's absurd to call anyone a front-runner for the best leading actress in a musical Tony Award yet. | |

| How do they postpone “Let It Go” to close the act? It’s 25 - 30 minutes into the film. Does it feel like a stall? Losing Elsa that long? It’s my big structural question since it shoves 2/3 of the story into act 2. | |

| Its a gorgeous recording. My favorite part of the show is also the "Park" / "Something Different" sequence which is captured beautifully. | |
