| I'm watching Reefer Madness for the first time in a while and she just knocks it out of the park. I also saw her Elphaba in Chicago several years ago and thought she was better than Idina who I also saw. Add in what was supposedly a heart breaking Fosca in Passion in Chicago and I have to wonder why she hasn't done more in NY. Obviously she has A Christmas Story Live tonight, but you'd think she has enough of a name to get a major new show on Broadway. I for one would love to see her replace Bernadette in Hello Dolly when the time comes. |

| I saw her this year in FREAKY FRIDAY and she was 100% delightful. Great timing, great voice, great performance. A couple years back I saw her do her cabaret show and I was blown away by it. I went in without any expectations and was so surprised by her choices and her way with lyrics. She sang the theme from "Valley of the Dolls" and it was truly a song about a person lost, in way over their heads and trying to find a way to survive. It was a remarkable interpretation of a very shlocky song! | |

| She is perfection in REEFER MADNESS and I wish there had been a soundtrack of the movie score released, but I don't think there ever was. The actress who plays the role on the original cast album (which I think is actually the LA cast, not the New York cast) is fine, but takes the climatic note in "The Stuff" down, which pales in comparison to Gasteyer's glorious high belt of the same note in the movie. It's thrilling in a way that moment on the original recording is not. | |

| ...in which I've seen her perform. She was by far the best of the four Columbias (Joan Jett, Kristen Lee Kelly, Liz Larsen) I saw in Rocky Horror. She exhibited the best vocal technique of the various Elphabas whom I've seen in Wicked. Though she was saddled with an excruciatingly unfunny Glinda, she still found moments of gold---both serious (an especially heartbreaking I'm Not That Girl) and comedic (drawing upon her experience as an impressionist with some killer evocations of Margaret Hamilton once Elphaba becomes "wicked"). I know many people found her grating in Roundabout's widely panned Threepenny Opera, but I thought her strident take on Mrs. Peachum as an Ivana Trump was insightful and unforgiving. Her delivery of "The Overwhelming Power of Sex" rivaled LuPone's turn in Sweeney Todd and Sutton Foster's "showing off" for ultimate belting of the season. I so wish I'd seen her as Fanny in PCLO's Funny Girl. |

| She was absolutely heartbreaking in Encore's A New Brain. I wondered at the time why no one has written a show around her yet. She can do comedy, drama, and has an amazing voice. Someone needs to showcase all that. | |

| AGREED. Write this woman a musical. Waaaay under-rated. | |

| I think Ana Gastayer can do no wrong. I randomly saw her perform at EPCOT Center's chintzy / shmaltzy Candlelight Processional Christmas Concert last year, which was in so many ways just tacky and eye-rolling, but she brought this incredible HUMANITY and WARMTH to the narration, and was just so tonally perfect about the whole thing. She's such a goof, and I think people associate her with some of her memorable SNL characters, that they don't realize what a great range she has. I don't think HELLO, DOLLY is the right fit for her. She needs something new and bold and original; here's hoping that a successful composer who can open a Broadway show will pen something for her. Jeanine Tesori, Jason Robert Brown, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz -- I'm looking at you guys. - GMB |

| The number that brought the (odd, enormous) house down and added something new. First time the broadcast felt joyful and effortless. It’s all so busy and ... busy. The score is charming though. And whether Broderick is reading a Teleprompter or not, he adds considerably. |

| I've always wondered that, too. She is a great musical performer (I saw her in Funny Girl) and seems to love theatre. | |

| I've hard her answer this question and she said she just doesn't get that many offers. She'd love to work more but she just doesn't get the roles. | |

| I agree she's wonderful, but she's been typecast from her SNL days. | |
