That was my take. When I mentioned it yesterday, people were surprised it was on "already." Several thought it was next weekend. And the 7 p.m. start was perhaps not felicitous for those using Sunday as a major shopping day. Getting everyone home, fed and down in front of the TV(s) (I'm dealing with that cliche because some iteration of it still exists) is not easy. 8 p.m. would've felt more comfortable. But finishing at 11, admittedly, would not be ideal.
Another case for stating: 3 hours is too long. And with the attenuated storytelling, it seemed to be stuck in its start-up forever. It seemed to take half the evening to the tree purchasing scene. |
