| Agree that it was a wonderful, happy evening. Shows like "Damn Yankees" have a terrific feel good quality and the presentation emphasized all the proper elements that have gone into making this a memorable musical. The songs are first-rate and the cast was up to the task of conveying the heart and the humor of the piece. Maggie Gyllenhaal was a sizzling and spectacular surprise as Lola...talent just runs in that family. Matt Morrison was a strong Joe Hardy and Whoopi Goldberg made a devilishly amusing devil. Is there anythig Danny Burstein can't do? This show is definitely worthy of a major Broadway revival. |
