I, too, enjoyed this, schauspieler, though clearly it was a creative reimagination of certain real events. I read Babel's 1920 Diary years ago, and recommend it (I wanted to read it again after seeing the show).

In a very convoluted way, this piece reminded me a bit of “Red-Eye to Havre de Grace.” I realize that they are extremely different stagings about two different characters/writers, but they shared a similar dreaminess of putting to stage the unreliable narration of a writer/writer's life. If that makes sense. |
