The Academy has released the list of the 70 tunes eligible for the Best Song Oscar. Three of the more notable entries are:
* ''Evermore'' by Alan Menken and Tim Rice (''Beauty and the Beast'')
* ''Remember Me'' by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (''Coco'')
* ''This Is Me'' by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (''The Greatest Showman'')
All three of these teams are past Oscar winners, and each duo got a Best Song nomination from the Critics' Choice Awards for these tunes.
Also with Broadway credits: Marc Shaiman (and Mariah Carey) for ''The Star,'' and Sara Bareilles for ''If I Dare'' from ''Battle of the Sexes.'' |
