I think at first the placement seemed a bit odd to me, as well as the fact that DHP sings the song directly to the audience. But now I think the placement at the start of Act II is fine. As for the other thing, Horace addresses the audience directly in his lines before "It Takes a Woman," and in the song itself. Plus Dolly addresses the audience directly at the very end of the show ("Money, money, money..."). So I don't have a problem with that, either. |
