What a strange figure. It leaps out at me, because I just spent that on a "Hamilton" box seat (separate thread below). It's now the lowest price for any performance of that show. For the record, I saw "Dolly" from terrific 2nd row balcony seats at $109, and still bragging, "Hamilton" from the rear mezz of the Rodgers back in the day (autumn 2015) for $89. Those seats would be $229. But there are none, through August.
Where did $229 come from? It's all relative. It looks like a terrific bargain when moments earlier someone first offers you a $549 seat.
By the way: $229 is the most I've ever paid for any ticket to any show anywhere, ever. (It's a Christmas present for someone.) It startles me that I walked away from the box office this week bragging about that figure. It's 2017, isn't it? |
