When I was a student in London back in 1977 I saw the Cinderella panto at the Palladium. I didn't know who any of the performers were. It turned out they were the stars of Man About the House, the sitcom Three's Company was based on. Richard O'Sullivan played Buttons the valet to the prince and Brian Murphy (in drag) and Yootha Joyce (George and Mildred Roper) were the step-sisters Georgina and Mildred. So they were big stars but it was all lost on me. My favorite part was a ventriloquist act with Nookie the Bear.
