Yes I remember it, it was 2 hrs long. My memories are not 100% clear but I think Patricia Routledge was the housekeeper, and of course Harry Secombe was Pickwick. I think it was made for British TV and aired here on local Educational TV stations. I think the area between 70 and 73 is just about right. As it was a BBC production, I think, they would have tapes if they still exist, and what a shame if they do not.
This production dates from around the same period as a BBC production of She Loves Me which starred Gemma Craven and was quite charming, although not in the league of the recently filmed Roundabout production which was well nigh PERFECT in every way. |
