Everyone was shocked when it hit $100. It's true. It's not a lie. That was my statement. Is it not enough.
Further, however, since you press: As far as actually commanding over $1000 for a ticket, well, great. I guess that's why they call it show BUSINESS. But it's still a shock and leaves the experience out of reach for many. And, I guess, they should be left out because they can't -- or won't -- cough up the money necessary to be part of such an experience. (The ticket prices at the Met Opera are higher and if you've been there lately you will notice that the audience attendance is getting pretty thin. Even worse than last year, it appears. Except for some performances.) |
