But a studio only gets back about half of the box-office gross. So just to come close to making back a negative cost of $84 million (plus some unspecified millions for advertising), the picture would have to duplicate its opening-week $24 million for six more weeks. That basically doesn't happen. So if the $84 million budget rumor is accurate, they'll have a tough struggle to make it back.
