| Is it possible that some of those selected to be honored were those who agreed to it when Pres. Trump was going to be attending? Norman Lear certainly only agreed when he said he wasn't going to greet the President at any festivities. There were probably some others who turned it down if they were required to sit next to the President's box, as traditionally the President is in attendance (though it turned out he didn't attend this year). I had the tv on to glance up and see the entertainment associated with the honorees, but yeah, there are a lot of people who deserved these honors more than several of those who were honored this year. |
