I was kinda shocked a few weeks ago to see she performed on The Carol Burnett Show.
...which was after she had already appeared in George M and Dames At Sea.
As far as other TV appearances, there's the classic episode of All In The Family where she plays a college student attempting to seduce Michael - and also an episode of Maude where she plays a young thing fooling around with Walter when he tries to separate from Maude. Both of these were in 1975. (Though I'm pretty sure I didn't see either of these in their original airing. I might have, but I don't think so.)
I also have a slight memory of seeing a short-lived sitcom called All's Fair that she did with Richard Crenna, where she played a photographer.
And then...in 1979, when I was starting to get to know Sondheim's shows as a teenager, I remember seeing her doing "Barcelona" with Richard Chamberlain on one of the Sylvia Fine Kaye TV specials...I knew the song well from the original cast recording by this time, but this was my first time seeing the number performed. |
