Nostalgia and rose colored glasses are both perilous things.
Statistics are also perilous things.
There are fundamental questions at play here: Are longer runs "better"? Is Broadway "better"? For the playwright in question, sure, but what about the shut out playwright?
More plays are being produced in New York now that in the 70s.
Is that "bad" for the theatre? |
