Not that this means anything directly related to the argument, but Best Play awards in the 1960s and 1970s were notable for often not being given to anything. It wasn't a great time for Broadway.

BTW, you can search the broadway database IBDB.COM by season and rather quickly pickup openings and lengths of run.
