Last year I attended a New Years Eve matinee performance of The Front Page. The police had a barricade at 8th Avenue where you had to show your ticket to be allowed access to the side street. It was a mob scene with several matinee shows all starting at the same time and throngs of people (already) lining up for the evening festivities. It took a good 20 minutes to get get access to the street the theater was on.
BTW, The show was totally worth it. The set was gorgeous and Nathan Lane was hilarious. Glad I didn't skip it. |
