I went back not too long ago with some friends, and I didn't find it "throng" ish at all. I think at this point, there are groups of returning-audience members who have learned the sequence and intentionally get to certain rooms to watch certain scenes, but I still think it's a pretty astonishing accomplishment, and I'm surprised that other 'atmosphere theater' pieces haven't ended up in long-runs the way this has.
Side note: the other bar and lounge spaces at the McKittrick are pretty easy to just walk right into and enjoy, even on a weekend night. Their location so far west has rendered them pretty chill; I love the fact that Manhattan actually has cool spots that aren't clogged up and impossible to get into.
