| I don’t know about the New Year’s Eve matinee performances, but in recent years, most Broadway shows are dark on New Year’s Eve. That wasn’t always the case. I remember attending several shows on that night, followed by a festive dinner at the Rainbow Room or a restaurant on 46th Street. Nowadays, the huge crowds in Times Square and heightened security has led to (maybe required) the theatre district to be dark. |
