In this recent video interview, Timothee Chalamet chats about his acclaimed new movie ''Call Me by Your Name,'' but his theater background comes up a number of times. He recalls being in his first N.Y. play, Anna Kerrigan's ''The Talls'' at Second Stage (in 2011). (Anyone see that?) ... He reveals that he's terrified about his acting process, yet he doesn't get stagefright. He also talks about the many N.Y. stage actors he worked with in another movie, ''Lady Bird,'' including Beanie Feldstein. That leads David Poland, the interviewer, to ask if Chalamet sings and dances (he does) and whether he could do ''Hello, Dolly!,'' which features Feldstein. Plus, he was so ''inspired'' by seeing Damien Chazelle's Oscar-winning ''La La Land.''
Chalamet comes off charmingly candid, excitable and so genuinely in love with acting and his fellow actors.
He's also endearingly self-deprecating, joking that this interview would get only 6 views. So far, it's racked up over 77,000 views. |
