| Oh, I agree that the main focus is the creation of the religion, but I didn't see it in Christian terms, perhaps because I'm not one myself. I saw the religion in "Mankind" as drawing on many different traditions and iconographies (which are all basically variations of each other), and then using them as structural supports to make sense of the religion that actually did develop. Of course, one who is more attuned to Christian perspectives might feel the Christian aspects much more strongly. |
