| Summertheater has a one-person vendetta against Robert O'Hara and his new play "Mankind" at Playwrights Horizon. I haven't seen it, so have no dog in the fight, but he refuses to specify his rather extreme language when asked to, just throwing around words like "racist" (an odd word to use for a black playwright, but that's a whole other discussion, probably beyond the purview of this board) and other terms meant to smear the writer and company. He's welcome to his opinion, of course, but flooding the site with bile without providing specific examples is hardly the way to begin the new year. He's given to strong stances which he then refuses to elaborate on. I wouldn't pay much attention--he does not do anything for his own credibility as a critic or even as someone interested in theatre as an art form. |
