| “BEST OF 2017” NEW MUSICAL THE BAND’S VISIT SHATTERS ALL-TIME BOX OFFICE RECORD—AGAIN! AT BROADWAY’S BARRYMORE THEATRE WITH $1,564,647 WEEKLY GROSS The critically acclaimed new musical THE BAND’S VISIT shattered the all-time box office record at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street) for a nine-show week, the week ending December 31, 2017. THE BAND’S VISIT’s gross for the week was $1,564,647, the highest for any nine-show week in the theatre’s 90-year history, surpassing the previous house record of $1,442,086.95, set by BETRAYAL on December 19, 2013. This is the second time THE BAND’S VISIT shattered the Barrymore house record, having previously grossed the most for an eight-show week on November 26, 2017. THE BAND’S VISIT opened on Thursday, November 9, 2017 to the best reviews of the season, and has played 36 preview and 60 regular performances. The Band’s Visit landed on more BEST OF 2017 lists than any show this year including being honored by The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Time magazine, Entertainment Weekly, New York magazine, Deadline, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Time Out New York, New York Observer, Forbes, The Wrap, Broadway.com, Buzzfeed, Thrillist, Daily Beast, Huffington Post and Asbury Park Press. THE BAND’S VISIT features music and lyrics by David Yazbek, a book by Itamar Moses, is based on the screenplay by Eran Kolirin, and is directed by David Cromer.
