Perhaps we should start 2018 by looking up the definition of "snark" (an attitude or expression of mocking irreverence and sarcasm). My post was not snarky unless you define it as questioning something unsupportable that another person posts.

Any reasonable review of the offerings on Broadway will reveal a large quantity of shows that are for grownups, such that your (dare I say snarky) suggestion that this is a lesson that needs to be learned is unsupportable.

Now in your followup it seems that perhaps your point is that you don't think there should be shows on Broadway geared primarily to young people. That's a reasonable point of view, even if I don't agree with it. To paraphrase one of those adult shows about which you inexplicably think there is a lesson needing to be learnt, I believe Broadway is wide enough for both Hamilton and Frozen.

P.S. Some of those "kiddie shows" you deride were pretty popular with adults even if not you. And my "inexhaustive" search of shows before 1994 discloses an awful lot that were decidedly "adult" and nonetheless insulted their intelligence. Even in 1903-1904.
