| It's been fascinating to watch Stuhlbarg's career arc. When he was younger, he was very beautiful and seemed destined to be a kind of classic leading man, at least on stage. But he always had such a sharp intensity that has served him well as he's become more of a character actor. I would love to see him get a Supporting Actor nomination for CALL ME BY YOUR NAME, and would love for him to return to the stage sometime soon. Unless I'm mistaken, he hasn't done a full run of a play here in nearly 10 years (HAMLET at the Delacorte in summer 2008). |
