| Brent Carver works steadily (as much, I imagine, as he wants to) and is much revered here in his native Canada. He has appeared frequently at the Stratford Festival, including an upcoming production of the Tempest this season. In the last decade I've seen him as Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, Jaques in As You Like It, Pellinore in Camelot, and in Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris (he was brilliant in all). He seems to deliberately choose small roles and sometimes obscure projects, but he is always stunning. |
