I saw the show when it tried out in Toronto. It was pretty weak I heard that Hal Prince chose not to work on fixing it until the show moved on to the West End. After it opened in Broadway I went to Sam Goody's where Chita, Kander and Ebb were autographing the CD. I mentioned to Chita that I saw the show in Toronto. She made a face as though she just took castor oil and said, "See it again!" Well, you don't argue with a diva, so I got myself a standing room ticket. It was vastly improved. I think the song "Where You Are" was added and that's my favorite number in the show. They also reworked the dance between Chita and Brent at the end. It didn't work at all in Toronto but was perfect on Broadway. It really was interesting to see a show evolve from an oot disaster to a Broadway hit.
