If one pays attention to American Theatre, TCG's magazine - virtually all professional theatres in America are TCG constituents - give us the following information.
In the 2016-17 season 12 plays are honored as most produced in the USA. We go all the way down to plays with as few as 6 productions - and none are by Ms Gunderson.
In 2017-18, Ms Gunderson does not make the most produced list (from theatres with seasons) either.
However this season there are 27 productions of plays she has written or co-written at TCG theatres - though no one play has more than 7 productions. So that means that at least 4 of her plays are being produced this season, many times. How curious.
Link below to the NEW YORKER PROFILE on her. Anyone know if any of these plays are good? Not being snarky - honest. But only I AND YOU has been on my radar in NYC, and it was lame and predictable. |
