Farinelli isn't much of a play either, and aside from Brantley, the reviews were fairly mixed (even their pull quotes outside the theater don't have much to say about the play itself). I do fear that in this weak season it will get a nomination, though, as there isn't much else to celebrate... it's a shame that Scott Rudin screwed over 1984.
