My love affair started with the cast album from PS Classics. Loved the music, sensed that the show would be terrific if I ever got a chance to see it, which I doubted I would. Imagine my surprise when a local community theater company announced a production for their following season, so I did get to see it Spring 2016. It was a decent production, my review for TB is linked below. It is a bit bigger than a chamber musical but would likely not fill a decent sized regional theater (above 250 seats) and is going to appeal much more to a gay crowd than a mixed audience. In the end, though I LOVE the show. I agree with Bill Eadie below that it has a lot of heart, the music gets the WW II period perfectly which is an musical era that I love so no surprise I am a sucker for this show. This one and an obscure piece called "Unfinished Song" are my two favorite Gay musicals, so that is saying a lot. ENJOY!!!!!!!
