Isn’t this the same old greed y producers argument in a different form?
How many unions work on Broadway – I don’t know, maybe 10?. I do know the average annual wage increase for many is around 3% annually.
If the price of tickets (regular or premium) to a show is rising 10% or 50% or 100% or higher, why are the producers the only people seeing that windfall? Sure actors are important but so are assistant directors and dance captains and dressers and ushers.
Shouldn’t everyone on a show make more money proportionally to the profits – when the profits are a direct result of all the hard work all these people are doing 8 times a week? |
