I don't think the reveal about being in neither political party hurt the husband's chances. I think it was clear from the party scene that he just wasn't one of the top candidates, just a dark horse. This was according to the Blair Brown character. I think his name was thrown in as a result of his political connections but that he wasn't at the top of the list. Then, when Chloe rejects Peter, he makes sure that Tom is out. Which sets Uma's character into taking action by blackmail.
I agree. I think the script was weak but didn't deserve the pounding that it received by the critics. It was topical, fun and I liked the acting. I rather enjoyed this more than METEOR SHOWER, which was trying to be grander and failed. |
