| I think the article is distinguishing lead from supporting character more than you (and some posters below) are. And certainly, Will and Grace is considered a comedy rather than a drama. | |

| Did everyone completely forget that "The New Normal" was on the air? I loved that show, I was so annoyed when it was canned. It was hilarious. |

| Blake was the lead. The two women having pillow fights were leads. And I can't be certain, but I don't remember him being out so much as struggling with his sexuality. |

| And then of course there was Love, Sidney where the leading character was gay but it was never mentioned in the series (sort of like in my home when my mother was still living) The television movie upon which the series was based was a bit more frank. Tony Randall played Sidney. | |
