| Often a big tour starts as Equity and then switches to non-Equity in later years in the tour. Sometimes a tour starts as non-Equity right off the bat, but that is much rarer. I doubt they plan to do that here or they would have announced that. Because if they had gone from Equity to non-Equity, the tour would still be happening, just under a different contract. Because of momentum (of lack thereof), it is unlikely they would wait for another year and then announce a non-Equity version of this. My best guess is that it won't tour and they will release the rights to stock and amateur. | |

| Actually, non-Equity is a new model. | |

| Actually, it happens with increasing frequency. "Bullets Over Broadway" and "Ghost" both had non-Equity tours, right out of the gate, no? Both recreated the B'way staging, with design elements and other duplications. | |

| I think you're right about those two. I would still call it rarer if you compare the total amount of tours that go out Equity. :-) | |

| Also 'THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY' and 'A GENTLEMEN'S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER' had/have non-equity tours. 'GENTLEMEN'S' just opened in Fort Lauderdale last night at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and I've heard it's a very good production. |

| I am not sure about Bridges. I think it must have been Equity because wasn't Elizabeth Stanley playing the lead? Gentleman's Guide was Equity in its first two seasons then went non-Equity in its third (current) season. | |

| I thought the Bridges tour was Equity. And the first Gentleman's Guide tour was also Equity, I believe - what you're seeing is the new one that started in the fall. | |

| The show was so technically complex that the staging would have had to be drastically rethought for a tour to be feasible. Also, the familiarity of the title didn't seem to drum up the kind of interest many thought it would. So, this is probably wise. Enough money has been lost here. | |

| I can’t say I’m surprised. It seems like every show announces a national tour these days and only about half of them come to fruition. | |
