What's the use of wonderin? vs Why should a woman who is healthy and strong/blubber like a baby when her man goes away? Two women characters, both strong in different ways. Both songs have lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein... Incidentally, TCM the other night showed a French version of LILIOM, with Charles Boyer as Billy Bigelow, who looked a little different, but the voice was unmistakable I only watched the Bench scene, and Marveled again at how R&H transformed the scene into CAROUSAL.
