| If you want to experience musical theatre nirvana you simply must see this cast!!!! I saw the original London cast and I thought it was not possible to top that experience. Tonight proved I was mistaken!! This cast brought this show to a whole new level for me! The quality of each voice and their interpretations of these characters was simply exquisite! Special shout out to Michael James Leslie as Judge Turpin whose voice is a force of nature especially in his solo. It is an experience you will not soon forget!! Jake Boyd as Anthony is dashing and has a soaring and sumptuous tenor voice. Eryn Lecroy is by far the most vocally thrilling Joanna I have ever heard. Stacy Bono as the beggar woman/pirelli was wonderful. John Rapson as Beadle was smarmy and vocally thrilling and John-Michael Lyles was earnest and touching as Tobias. Hugh Panaro who I have always enjoyed was a revelation both vocally and in his nuanced and wonderfully sinister take on this role. Carolee Carmello another actor I have always enjoyed is just stunning and hysterical and makes the role her own and the chemistry between her and Hugh is palpable!! I have been attending theater for over 40 years and tonight was simply magical!! 5 members of this cast will be leaving after February 25. I suggest you see them. I will be going again before they leave. Just FYI, I saw the original Broadway cast, revival at Circle in the Square, Revival with Patti and Raul and concert version with Patti and Neal. If you yearn for purity of voices with amplification do yourself a favor and go!! | |

| Definitely sounds like an improvement from the last time I saw Panaro and Carmello paired in Lestat! | |

| I saw that mess twice. Once when it tried out in SF and again in NYC. I wanted to see if they improved it. They didn't. | |

| I think one of the problems with dracula was following the book to closely | |

| Any show really falls apart when the crew follow dracula from england back to translvania to kill him. It works in the book, but there have been so many hollywood variations, that i think a stsge version could remain in England and do away with him in a more dramatic way. | |

| The popish score of lestat just didnt work. Clearly elton john had checked out months before to let this show wither. And then he wrote the phenominal billy elliot, where his heart really shows in the material. | |

| They at least eliminated the egyptian mythology in the second act which was eye rolling level in san fran. The best line was given by the audience member in front of me. The version (i think they tried several endings) i saw in ny had lestat come out in modern day street clothes and state " i am lestat and i will live forever" when they guy in front of me turned to his companion and stated "just not on broadway" best line ever! |

| While eye-rollingly ridiculous, the Egyptian sequence was at least not as laugh-out-loud funny as the Broadway ending you mentioned above (which is the one I saw). The NYC ending registered mostly as "We Give Up!" | |

| From what I'd gathered at the time, it was improved to the extent that it was made worse, so went from cringingly bad to hilariously awful. I reveled in it--this was my own personal Not Since Carrie moment. Everything about it, down to the most minute detail (e.g. the positioning of actors when being bitten), was a bad, bad choice. | |

| Forgot to mention that I talked to the whole cast except for Beggar who somehow slipped by me. They were all gracious and accepted my gushing which is a rare thing for me but OMG their control and unique choices and how they listened to each other in the chorus parts made it even more special. GOOOOOO!!!! | |
