Yes, everyone involved in anything union get paid. It's been little while since I was involved in this, but I'm remembering it's by multi-week periods like 4 or 6 weeks. This includes acting and music talent. So there is a payment that's made upfront for the time to shoot it. Then a payment that's done for a limited time frame (if the spot airs outside the timeframe, then the entire team gets paid for an additional time frame) and based on the geographical areas where the spot is playing (big city markets cost more than small city, national is of course the most expensive). There has to be a descriptor on the footage (Broadway Production Cast) so it allows the producers to not be guilty of false advertising if those actors (above title) aren't in the show in St. Louis.
