| I don't think Aristotle would disagree at all. A musical theatre performance (and the musical itself for that matter) is more than 12 tracks on a cast recording. You can't possibly asses the work by listening only to a recording. You can asses the vocal performance or the score perhaps, but not the work as a whole...which would be in line with Aristotlean criticism, no? Anyway, different strokes... |
