| Theatre for all doesn't mean theatre for free. I don't see any other NY institution offering free tickets to 2 high caliber shows every year. Certainly there are ways to get into those shows via season tickets or donations, but for 2 months every year, if you want to see a play for free and have the wherewithal to get up at the crack of dawn, you have the opportunity. | |

| I saw the Twelfth Night musical when they did it a few years ago. It was one of my favorite shows of the year. The show is VERY entertaining. Don't write it off yet. | |

| I agree with TheatreGuy. The show was a charmer, and I look forward to revisiting it to see how it evolves. | |

| Shaina Taub's two Public Works shows were by far some of my favorite works of the last two seasons. They absolutely deserve to be seen by a wider audience. I only hope this doesn't mean they will be skipping the now-traditional show over Labor Day weekend. | |

| I am a fan of The Public's but let's not forget they are not ROLLING in money from Hamilton. Let's see what they do with that money. Somehow, I don't think lowering prices is on their list. | |

| I'm curious what you would define as "rolling" in money, and how you imagine that cash flow figures into their overall budget, including the costs for the many outreach programs they have, and the support they give to developing playwrights and mobile theater. | |

| Their massive windfall came after The Public had spent a great deal of money expanding the work they do developing playwrights (Emerging Writers Group), developing plays (Public Lab), bringing theater to underserved communities (Mobile Shakespeare Unit), and involving underserved communities in production (Public Works). Their mainstage season is a small part of their larger service to American culture and communities. | |
