Maybe, but I think if performing the show in a pie shop DOES have a conceptual meaning, it might well be a metaphor for "man devouring man," "who gets eaten and who gets to eat." Of course, pies in most pie shops don't contain human remains, and neither do the pies in THIS pie shop until Act II. But then they most certainly do. So I would say that's a valid interpretation of the concept of this production. Does that work for you at all? |
