Mr. Reams does not have his facts straight on his WOMAN OF THE YEAR Merman/Bacall Opening Night story
It did not open on a hot summer night in August but in March. I was there.
Took pics of Ethel Merman and Carole Cooke exiting their limo outside of the Palace so that part of his story does not hold up either
I am wondering if he is mixing the opening night of LA CAGE which did open in August also at the Palace, I also covered that event
Don't remember the "Merm" in attendance - "celebs" I recall: Ruth Gordon and Garson Kanin, Steve & Eydie and Dorothy Loudon. |
