Martin McDonagh is quietly one of (or THE?) most produced playwrights in modern Broadway

This year marks his SEVENTH Broadway production, all original (rather than revivals). Granted all were short runs, most ran about 3-4 months (some at non-profits with scheduled runs, some commercial), the longest ran 11 months (Beauty Queen), second place being 5 months (The Pillowman).

But I think this is very noteworthy, few if any playwrights of the modern day (let's say writers who broke professionally after 1970 even) have had this many plays produced on Broadway.

Also notable is that for all his acclaim and popularity with producers and I'd say young readers... he has 0 Tony awards and only 1 Drama Desk.
His 3 best lost to very strong contenders - Beauty Queen to Art (I'd have given it to Beauty Queen I think) Pillowman to Doubt (tough call as I loved the plays and productions of both), Lt. of Inishmore to The History Boys (also a tough call, loved both). (Lonesome West lost to Side Man, Cripple and Behanding were not nominated). His plays have also not won, nor been eligible as far as I can tell, any Pulitzer Prizes (which always launches a playwright into a higher stratosphere of critical interest, at least briefly).

No point being made here, I just found it all interesting, especially as play #7 is upon us and sure to receive a nom and perhaps win him a Tony. I saw the NT Live broadcast of the West End production and I didn't find it all that compelling a play, but I will likely see it live in NYC.

Who else comes close, besides Tony Kushner? Kushner's only had 3 original works produced on Broadway (Angels 1 & 2, Caroline or Change), but if we're counting major works produced in major NYC theaters he has, I believe, 7? 8? It's hard to keep track.
