1970 was an arbitrary date, I original was going to say 1980... I do think the last 38 years is more than enough time for this kind of claim.
I consider Mamet, Stoppard, Hare, McNally and Ayckbourn to be in a different generation. You're making me realize my time frame was too generous, because I don't think anyone who had plays on broadway in the 70s (40+ years ago) really counts for this. |
